Off to Japan

Scott and I are going to be in Japan for the next 10 days!!  I am so pumped.  We have a best friend, Mikey G, who is stationed there in the Navy.  We have tried pulling this off for the past two years but Mike has had to go out to sea each time.  This time the plan is working!  We leave tomorrow to Tokyo.  I will take a ton of pictures and post them on my Tumblr and Instagram if I have net access. 

My grandma raised my dad and his siblings in Japan for 7-8 years.  I grew up hearing some great stories.  That is also where my grandma learned to watercolor paint, from one of the locals in the market that she lived near.  She would stand there and watch him paint each day, without saying anything.  Then one day he had a chair waiting for her.  So the guy taught her how to paint with watercolors, even though they spoke different languages.  

I am hoping to see some beautiful things and make some awesome art from Japan.  Traveling is my special thing that I save for.  It feeds this noggin' of mine so I can be inspired to keep making art to share with everyone!  You gotta input awesome to output awesome.  Na'm sayin'?
