Atl Dawg

Long time no post! I just moved to Atlanta where I will be working at Carter's designing graphics and patterns for baby clothes. I'm pretty excited. Scott and I have been fixing up our place for a few days-I may post some pictures. Anyway, Atlanta is oh so sweet, with something to do around every corner. We live in Midtown, which is right down the street from my job, so that's cool. Lots of magazines and studios here, so freelance looks bright. Also the Coca-Cola headquarters is here, which means that Coke tastes good at every restaurant. Ha ha. I was actually born right outside of Atlanta, so some things feel familiar. I will post soon with more updates, along with the wine festival poster that I recently finished-which is on a Cd packed. Hope everyone is enjoying their summer, if you're not doing well, watch "Salad Fingers" on Youtube, it's pretty amusing. To my Ringling buddies, I miss all of you and hope the best, we have a big bright world ahead of us, and lots of good memories to come. We will all have to make annual visits together somewhere.

THesis!

The senior illustration show really rocked this year. It's amazing to see what everyone can do given the freedom and time to create a body of work. I'm proud of our class. Rock on C/O 2008. I sure will miss all of you.

**There are a few of the pieces at the bottom of this post, or you can click HERE to see all of the work.**

Artist statement:

"The images on this wall represent my way of poking fun at life’s absurdities. I also created images that are representational of my past experiences, including things that inspire me. For me, life is about embracing the little things, and allowing yourself to be moved by the beauty of people and their imperfections. Through this perspective, I created a series of pieces portraying characters, humor, nature and patterns. I used nostalgic color palettes and a hodge-podge presentation to convey the sporadic recollection of memories and experiences. For me drawing patterns and humorous scenarios is a release from life’s trials and tribulations and an outlet to express my personal outlook on life."

I also made prints of a lot of the pieces. I'm going to shop around a compellation book of this work and see where it takes me. In the mean time, I'm going to graduate tomorrow. Ha ha..weird, and oh so sweet. Oh and Ironman rocked.

and here is my final project for Computer Illustration. I really want to get into designing boards.
